THE MISSION

First, upload your photo to our website. Our team will use state-of-the-art Nanofiche technology to laser etch these photos onto high-quality nickel sheets. The sheets are placed in a space-grade capsule, which is then attached to a rocket.

Upon successful launch, the rocket will ascend and reach Earth's orbit. At an appropriate altitude and orbital trajectory, the capsule detaches from the rocket.

For no less than 10,000 years, your precious memory will continue to orbit Earth in this resilient capsule - a testament to human innovation and connection across generations. We hope that this experience brings you joy and wonder as you become part of an incredible legacy.

THE PROCESS

1. UPLOAD PHOTO

To add your favorite picture to our archive, it's super simple.
1. Head over to the "Upload My Picture Section" and use our user-friendly image uploader.
2. Choose your desired image, adjust the size and scale to your liking, and you'll see an indicator in the top right corner of the uploader showing your upload progress.
3. Once it reaches 100%, just click "Add to Archive" and that's it!
Voila, you're done!

2. PHOTO LASER-ETCHED ONTO NANOFICHE

The photos are digitized and then engraved onto a special nickel-based film called  Nanofiche, which is highly durable and can withstand extreme conditions in space.

3. NANOFICHE SHEETS ADDED TO CUBE

After all photo's are uploaded and we've reached to total amount of pictures necessary to proceed with the mission the Nanofiche sheets are added and placed in a space-grade capsule, which is then attached to a rocket.

4. CUBE ATTACHED TO ROCKET

The CubeSat is attached to the US company providing the rocket as part of the rideshare program

5. LAUNCH & CUBE ORBITS EARTH

Upon successful launch, the rocket will ascend and reach Earth's orbit. At an appropriate altitude and orbital trajectory, the capsule detaches from the rocket.
The CubeSat will then orbit the Earth in Medium Earth Orbit for thousands of years

WHAT IS NANOFICHE TECHNOLOGY?

NanoFiche is a superior space-age archival storage and analog technology that offers extremely high storage capacity. This medium is resistant to temperature and humidity and has a negligible degradation factor, making it ideal for archival purposes. It has been described as a medium of choice for a "million-year archive" due to its potential to last for hundreds of thousands of years or more. NanoFiche produces high-density images on nickel. A single sheet measuring 8.5"x11" can store up to 150,000 pages of text or photos, making it the highest density storage media available today.

One of 2 Capsules

The "2" in the name Pic2Space refers to our project that involves creating two identical cube shaped artifacts. One of the cubes will be sent to space, while the other will be buried on Earth at a secret location. Once both cubes have been dispatched, we will erase all data from our computers, leaving only the data stored on these two cubes as a permanent record of our project. In other words, the two cubes are the only remaining memory of our project, and they serve as a physical and lasting reminder and testament to the mission.

A collection of timeless collectables

"Just as pioneers planted a flag to claim new territory, you can leave your mark on the final frontier by sending and sharing a piece and memory of your very unique human story into the great beyond.
It's a chance to participate in space exploration, even if we were born too soon to experience it firsthand."
